Description
First Edition, Second Impression (September 1918; the first impression was May 1918). Publisher's blue buckram with gilt lettering to the front cover and spine. Ex Imperial War Museum stock with discreet stamps and 'Withdrawn from stock' mark, but no other library labels or marks. 12mo. pp. 165 notably with 219 black and white photographs and 3 maps. A First World War memoir of a member of the 2nd Battalion Black Watch, a constituent battalion of the 21st Brigade, Tigris Force which fought at the siege of Kut-al-amara. Includes a brief service record of each officer and a Roll of Honour for the Battalion. The author and battalion are not expressly identified in the book, but were later identified from the contents of the service records.
Condition
A book in Good condition with a tight binding, with worn but complete covers and spine. Half-title hinge partly detached, tear to title page, but otherwise undamaged with clean contents.
