Copy number '62' of a Facsimile Edition limited to 92 copies on Fedrigoni papers (140gsm Woodstock Bianco, Woodstock Azzurro and 180gsm Materica Aqua). With a newly written Foreword, by Dr Jan Piggott, Shackleton expert who also wrote the accompanying essay to the Folio Society's facsimile of Aurora Australis, as well as a newly written Preface giving a background on the making of the facsimile. These newly added texts are printed letterpress on an Albion Press on Zerkall smooth white paper. Bound by Roger Grech, quarter blue cloth over repeat-pattern paper covered boards, with a printed paper title label to the spine, printed endpapers; the repeat pattern cover also printed from an original block on Abbey Mills Greenfield watermarked paper, this time a white specimen paper, the illustration taken from the original penguin press-mark used by the printers in their Antarctic edition. Folio, 320 x 245 mm, pp. [2, blank] [half-title] [frontispiece] [title-page] [blank] [1-4] 5-57 [blank] [colophon] [3, blank] illustrated throughout, and with a specimen of Abbey Mills Greenfield paper tipped-in at [page 29] showing the same watermark on which Aurora Australis was printed.
