Copy number '197' of an edition limited to 300 copies (of which only copies numbered 1-150 accompanied the portfolios of plates). Signed by the author on the limitation page. Hand set in Caslon type and printed at Whittington Court on Rives mould-made paper by John and Rosalind Randle and Miriam Macgregor; bound by Pat Hicks at The Whittington Press. Printed mustard yellow sewn wrappers with illustrations of the alphabet blocks on the verso of the wrapper sheet. Folio, 340 x 260 mm, pp. [title page] [limitation page] [List of Plates in Portfolio] [Acknowledgements] [5-16], illustration on page 13. TOGETHER WITH a folded sheet with nine annotated black and white photographs "Printing William Nicholson's Alphabet from the Original Woodblocks" laid in.
